Paperwork PaperHELL Part II

Finally, after more months than I care to remember I have managed to get all my paperwork under control. If you missed my first posts on this you can catch up here and here.

This is what my dining room looked like at earlier in the year....

....and since then the paperwork mountain has haunted my every move until finally over the last month I have managed to get on top of it.

Since a lot of our paperwork was now irrelevant, because it related to our last house, I decided that I was going to start from scratch. So out went the beaten up, mis-matched files and torn dividers. All out-dated paperwork was shredded and old manuals thrown out. Once I had pared it back to only the essential paperwork, in came these files.

(They are by Staples and come in different sizes: A5 75mm and A4 25/75mm.)

I debated going down the ‘all black’ lever-arch file route again, but my eyes were drawn to this pin on pinterest, and I thought that if the files were different colours it might give me some chance of remembering what they contained!

So here’s how I organised our paperwork….

Hopefully, this has given you some ideas on how you could organise your paperwork!!?

In the mean time, I'll leave you on a more light-hearted note with this clip.
Enjoy!

Paperwork PaperHELL!!!!

One of the things that I loathe the most is Paperwork or as I like to call it PaperHELL

For whatever reason, I just can’t keep on top of it so consequently when I need a specific document it’s never quite at my fingertips.

This situation is made worse at the moment as we are still in possession of all our paperwork from the previous house too.

This is definitely one of the tasks that I intend to tackle over the Easter Holidays, so over the next few weeks I’m going to try and think of a Paperhell Paperwork system that’ll work for us!! Any suggestions will be gratefully received!!

A Martha Stewart Slice of Heaven

During a brief trip to Staples to buy some bubble wrap and boxes, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Traipsing up and down the aisles supervising Sprout’s sticky fingers (literally – stickers are a favourite at the moment and we came away with some sparkly smiley faces!) I encountered an aisle full of beautiful Martha Stewart stationary.

For those of you who don't know, I LOVE anything stationary related – Sharpie pens in every colour of the rainbow, notebooks covered in pretty fabric, multi-coloured post it notes. In fact, when I was younger I used to hoard my stationary and save it for special occasions, which of course meant I never got the chance to enjoy using it!

Another tiny little secret of mine is that I love being organised…..well the thought of it at least!! When it comes to carrying through all my good intentions to the bitter end I sometimes get a little distracted and wander off track!

However, this binder and all the assorted accessories that go with it has really inspired me to become more organised so watch out for future posts on getting yourself more organised!

Feel like becoming more organised, but just don’t have the time? Why don’t you spend 5 minutes organising something round your house? What about tidying your cutlery draw, sorting out your spice rack or filing your bank statements?
